What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser or device. We may also use related technologies—such as pixels, tags and local storage—that can recognize a browser, remember a preference or help us understand how the store is used.
Some of these tools are set by Aftrdsk through our Shopify store. Others are provided by services that support checkout, payment, fraud prevention, analytics, customer service, advertising or social-media features.
Four practical categories
- Strictly necessaryThese keep navigation, cart, checkout, account access, payment security, load balancing and privacy preferences working. They cannot usually be switched off through our consent tool.
- FunctionalThese remember choices such as language, region, currency, login state and other preferences.
- Analytics and performanceThese help us understand visits, traffic sources, interactions, errors and store performance so we can improve the experience.
- Advertising and social mediaThese help deliver, limit and measure advertising or support social features. Where permitted, they may recognize activity across different websites or services.
Shopify and other providers
Shopify hosts our store and uses cookies to provide and improve the storefront, checkout, security and related services. Other providers may set cookies when their tools are active on the store.
The exact providers and technologies can change as the store develops. We use the consent and privacy controls available through Shopify to reflect the categories currently enabled.
Your choices
Where the law requires consent, non-essential cookies are used only after you choose to allow them. You can accept, reject or manage available categories through the cookie banner or privacy-preferences control on the store. Changing your mind later does not affect processing that already took place.
Your browser can also block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the cart, account or checkout from working correctly, so review your browser’s help information before disabling all cookies.
Privacy signals and US choices
Where applicable, we recognize supported opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control. United States residents can also visit Your Privacy Choices for choices relating to certain advertising activities.
Because there is no uniform industry response to the older browser “Do Not Track” setting, the store may not respond to that signal. This does not affect legally recognized preference signals.
How long cookies last
Session cookies generally expire when the browser closes. Persistent cookies remain for a defined period or until they are deleted. The exact duration depends on the purpose, the provider and your browser settings.
Information derived from cookies is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here and in our Privacy Policy.
